The Canada Health Act grants Canadians the freedom to choose healthcare. Under this act, Canadians’ medical services are covered by their respective provincial health plans. However, when traveling outside their home province, individuals are responsible for covering medical expenses beyond emergency care. This allows individuals seeking immediate medical attention, such as surgery, to opt for out-of-province care without requiring procedures in foreign countries, thereby mitigating potential risks associated with medical tourism.
Based in Vancouver, BC, we are conveniently located within 30 minutes drive of Vancouver International Airport, making Pacific Plastic Surgery Group an ideal location to support Out of Province Patients.

The Out-of-Province Client Journey: What Can You Expect from Pacific Plastic Surgery Group?
1. Chat with Our Team
We will contact you to discuss your concerns and which procedures you are considering. During this phone call, we will provide you with options for consultations with Dr. Darren Lazare and schedule your appointment. You can opt for an in-person or virtual consultation from the comfort of your own home. This omits the requirement to travel to Vancouver for consultation before surgery.
2. Initial Consultation:
During in-person and virtual appointments, you will discuss your medical history, symptoms, and treatment options. Dr. Lazare will listen to your concerns, and together, you will create a treatment plan to meet your needs and goals.
3. Scheduling Surgery:
When scheduling an ideal date for your surgery we will consider your travel arrangements, recovery timeline, and work commitments. A non-refundable deposit of $2000 is required to secure your chosen surgical date.
Once the deposit is received, our Cosmetic Coordinator will provide the necessary paperwork for the surgical center and guide you through the completion process. If Dr. Lazare determines that blood work or additional tests are needed, these must be completed at least four weeks before your scheduled surgery date.
4. Travel and Accommodations:
Planning travel for medical purposes can be daunting, but our team is here to help. We can provide advice and recommendations for travel arrangements, accommodations, and local resources to ensure your trip is smooth and stress-free.
5. Post-Procedure Follow-Up:
Your care doesn’t end after the procedure. We will ensure proper follow-up care is arranged in your local area. We are committed to supporting you throughout your recovery journey.
