Experience remarkable skin rejuvenation with Contour TRL, a state-of-the-art laser treatment designed to address deep wrinkles, sun damage, scars, and uneven skin texture. This customizable skin resurfacing procedure delivers powerful results while stimulating long-term collagen production for healthier, smoother skin.

What is Contour TRL?

Contour TRL (Tunable Resurfacing Laser) is our deepest skin resurfacing treatment that uses an erbium laser to remove damaged skin layers with precision. Its customizable technology allows for treatments ranging from light peels to deep resurfacing, depending on individual skin concerns.

How It Works

Contour TRL safely removes a layer of skin to a depth determined by our physicians. The depth of treatment will depend on the skin condition, your desired outcome, and expectation for downtime. Because Contour TRL can affect tissue with micron precision, your physician can treat your skin with the exact amount of energy needed – no more, no less. As new skin cells develop, the skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more evenly toned. This process also stimulates collagen production for long-lasting improvements.

Contour TRL can be combined with other Sciton modalities, such as ProFractional™ or BBL® HERO™ to simultaneously address multiple skin concerns while delivering remarkable results.

Benefits of Contour TRL

  • Deep Wrinkle Reduction: Effectively treats deep lines and creases, especially in areas that are difficult to treat with surgery, such as around the mouth.
  • Improved Skin Texture: Smooths rough, uneven skin and can effectively treat Actinic Ketatoses
  • Scar and Pigmentation Treatment: Reduces scars, sunspots, and discoloration.
  • Long-lasting Results: Ongoing skin improvement as collagen production increases.
  • Customizable Treatments: Adjustable depth for tailored results.

What to Expect During Treatment

  1. Consultation: Your physician will assess your skin and create a personalized treatment plan.
  2. Preparation: A topical anesthetic cream may be applied for comfort and/or or local anesthesia injected to ensure optimal comfort.
  3. Treatment: The laser targets specific areas with precision, removing damaged skin layers. The physician will position the laser over the skin while a computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam in the designated treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 15-30 mins.
  4. Aftercare: Post-treatment care includes soothing products, moisturizers, and sun protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Contour TRL suitable for all skin types?

Contour TRL is most effective for lighter skin tones. Your provider will evaluate your skin to determine if it’s the right treatment for you.

  • How many treatments will I need?

Many patients achieve noticeable results after one session. Deeper concerns may require additional treatments for optimal results.

  • Does the treatment hurt?

The comfort level of laser resurfacing treatments varies from patient to patient and depends largely on the depth of treatment. For shallow treatments, the procedure is well tolerated with the use of a topical anesthetic. For deeper treatments, your physician may administer a nerve block or local anesthetic.

  • How long does the treatment take?

Treatment time varies based on the size of the treated area and the depth of the procedure, typically lasting 30-60 minutes.

  • What should I expect immediately after treatment?

Following the treatment, you may experience redness, a sensation similar to sunburn, and possible swelling in the treated areas. Your physician will provide personalized aftercare instructions, which may include the use of analgesics and a moisturizing ointment to promote skin healing.

  • What should I expect for recovery?

Redness may persist for 8-12 days, depending on the depth of the treatment. Peeling and flaking typically occur within 24 hours following treatment and should naturally shed off.

    • Do not pick, rub, or forcibly remove any skin during the healing phase, as this may lead to scarring or infection.
    • Gently washing the skin more frequently will help to promote the peeling process.
    • Your physician will recommend a gentle cleanser and occlusive barrier to protect and soothe the treated area.
    • It’s advisable to use these products until the skin has naturally exfoliated.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for two months post-treatment. Adhere to all post-care guidelines provided by your physician for optimal results.
    • Once the skin has fully healed and you’re no longer using the occlusive barrier, you may begin to wear makeup. This may take 2-7 days depending on the depth of your treatment.
    • If you choose to wear makeup, applying sunblock daily is essential. This helps prevent hyperpigmentation triggered by direct or indirect sunlight.
    • Consistent use of sunblock is advised for up to 3 months after the procedure.
  • When will I see results?

Depending on your treatment, the top layer of your skin will regenerate and can typically be covered with makeup within 2 days to 1 week. At this stage, you will notice visible improvements in your skin’s texture, tone, and the appearance of wrinkles. Deeper laser treatments also promote new collagen production over the next 4 to 6 months, leading to continued enhancements in skin tightness and resilience.

  • Are the results permanent?

While results are long-lasting, the skin will continue to age naturally. Maintenance treatments can help sustain your youthful appearance.

  • Can I wear makeup after treatment?

Makeup can be applied once your skin has healed, usually within 2-7 days for deeper treatments.

  • Is Contour TRL safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained professional. The treatment is precise and customizable, minimizing risks and maximizing results.
